San Luis — The San Luis police have notified the community to keep the entire city safe. Police department officials used social media to address various issues that citizens complained about, such as semi-truck parking in residential areas.
According to San Luis city code 10.15.225parking of commercial vehicles with a capacity exceeding 1.5 tonnes on any lot in any residential area is considered commercial use and is prohibited.
Yuma Daily News We took to social media to see how the community felt about the code, but some residents aren’t happy. One of her social media users said, “How can a hardworking person not park on their lot?”
Councilor Maria Cecilia Cruz said: Facebook post To let the community know that we are willing to meet and talk with those who want to discuss this issue in order to come up with a solution. Cruz understands the importance of the San Luis trucking community.
The San Luis Police Department also dealt with municipal code 10.15.260.Vehicles may not be parked in the area between curbs and sidewalks at any time. Vehicles must not be parked on these curb-free carriageways to force pedestrians to walk along the running portion of the carriageway.
