CCSO K9 helps seize over 20 pounds of methamphetamines

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Dex, K9 and Coconino County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) proved he’s a good boy at his job on Saturday when he helped police seize more than 20 pounds of methamphetamine during a traffic stop.

At about 7:00 am on February 4, the K9 team from the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office stopped vehicles heading east on Interstate 40 near Two Guns.

During the stop, officers found a bag containing “several heat-sealed bags of methamphetamine” in the passenger compartment of the car.

All together, the bags weighed 24 pounds, officials said.

A 33-year-old Californian driver was arrested and told police he was driving from Los Angeles to Phoenix.

He was booked into Coconino County Detention Facility in Flagstaff on charges related to transporting drugs for sale.
