Sedona International Film Festival Presents “Straight Story”
The celebrated film serves as a tribute to David Lynch and honors his legacy.
Sedona, AZ – The Sedona International Film Festival is set to showcase “Straight Story” on July 1st and 2nd at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre.
This film is part of a series that pays tribute to the renowned director David Lynch.
Starring Richard Farnsworth, who received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor for this role, alongside Harry Dean Stanton, Sissy Spacek, and others, the film presents a compelling story.
Alvin Straight (played by Richard Farnsworth), a retired widower from the 1970s, receives troubling news that his estranged brother, Lyle (Harry Dean Stanton), might be facing a severe health crisis. Determined to mend their relationship, Alvin hatches a plan to visit Lyle in Wisconsin, even though he lives in Iowa and lacks both a vehicle and a driver’s license. In a rather unconventional twist, he decides to make the journey using his old lawnmower. This sets off a whimsical yet profound journey.
“Straight Story” will be screened at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre on Tuesday, July 1st at 4 PM and Wednesday, July 2nd at 7 PM.
