Josh Pendergrass, who previously served as the communications director for Alabama Governor Kay Ivey, has kicked off his campaign for the Alabama Auditors position. His focus is on promoting government accountability, financial responsibility, and conservative principles.
Founded in 2011, Pendergrass’s law firm in Albertville has allowed him to accumulate over 14 years of legal experience. His practice areas encompass family law, juvenile law, church law, and estate planning. Additionally, he acts as a contracted juvenile attorney for the state, providing legal aid to at-risk groups.
Beyond his legal work, Pendergrass has been involved as a pastor, both full-time and part-time, within various congregations across Alabama. His campaign claims that he has played a significant role in strengthening the church community, developing youth outreach initiatives, and enhancing family involvement.
As communications director for Governor Ivey, he was instrumental in crafting public messaging and supporting the administration’s policy priorities. He is currently engaged in legislative efforts and statewide campaigns, believing that this experience will help him understand the concerns of Alabama residents better.
Pendergrass’s platform for the state auditor role includes promises to enhance governmental transparency, bolster voter integrity, and push for initiatives that prioritize Alabama’s interests. He aligns with former President Trump’s policy stances and aims to further Trump’s agenda within the state.
Holding degrees from Lambas University, Jones School of Law, and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Pendergrass is proud to be a first-generation college graduate. He credits his upbringing, especially the influence of his grandparents, for instilling in him a strong work ethic and commitment to community service. He and his wife, Leslie Brown, are raising their family in Alabama.
