Eyewitness News (WBRE/WYOU) — The Pro Bowl game was played last weekend, and the Eagles’ eight players were named to the team, but of course they had to skip it after qualifying for the big game.

However, another member of the organization traveled to Las Vegas. A native of Lackawanna County, who has been rooting for the Byrds up close for the past six years.

At Romer Dance Studio in Old Forge, Mary Lou Lloyd sports Midnight Green. And for good reason. She is the proud mother of Savannah Lloyd and is currently in her sixth and final season as a cheerleader for the Eagles.

“It was just amazing. I mean all the events, all her promotions and everything. It was so much fun,” said Mary Lou.

The most recent event, the Pro Bowl, as Savannah was selected by her teammates to represent the Eagles.

“To be voted in, to have that large team vote for her, is such an honor. It was great to have her last year. After having a great time with all the cheerleaders on the team, we flew straight to Arizona,” explains Mary Lou.

As the Riverside alum moves from the Pro Bowl to the Super Bowl, her dance roots are in Romar. Savannah’s aunt and godmother, Rose Her Graham, co-owns and operates the studio with Mary Her Lou.

“Oh my god, when she was three years old, she was into dancing and gymnastics. recalls Graham.

Savannah is a first grade teacher in the Abington Heights School District and also Romar’s instructor. And now she has a chance to finish her run in Philadelphia with another championship.

“I’m so proud, and I’m really happy for her now that she’s leaving the Eagles, because she really feels she’s achieved everything she wanted with that organization.”
