“We’re going to be a strong force”: Tuberville states he will be highly involved as Governor of Alabama

Tuberville Announces Alabama Gubernatorial Run

U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) has declared his intention to run for Governor of Alabama in 2026, expressing eagerness to jump straight into action once he is sworn in.

This week, Tuberville made his campaign official, revealing that he raised $2 million within the first 24 hours.

When discussing the approach of his future administration, Tuberville was clear in his vision. “We’re going to be battleships,” he said during an interview on WVNN Radio. “It’s going to take many people and definitely some changes—we’re steering this state government in a new direction.”

The senator expressed his excitement about tackling various needed reforms in Alabama.

“If you take over as a state governor, you should have a solid game plan ready within a year and a half,” he noted. “With the right people in key areas, we can really strengthen our state. Sure, there’s plenty of work to be done—education, economic development, infrastructure—but we have strong plans in place.”

One major focus for Tuberville is boosting the economy statewide. He highlighted that some regions, like Huntsville and Mobile, are thriving economically, and he aims to ensure that progress reaches more areas.

“We have 5 million people here. It’s a team effort; I can’t do it all myself, and people can’t just refer to me as the governor without teamwork,” he emphasized.
