For quite some time, conservatives in Alabama have felt the need to hold back. We’ve seen many Republicans in Montgomery grow government, increase spending, and postpone promised reforms. With Senator Tommy Tuberville entering the race for governor, we finally have a chance to shift that narrative.
This campaign is more than just politics; it’s a fight for Alabama’s identity.
When he made his announcement, I was privileged to be in Auburn with Coach Tuberville, and the atmosphere was electric. But beyond the excitement, what struck me most was the crowd. It was filled with everyday Alabamians—business owners, retirees, students, and families—rather than just politicians and lobbyists.
Like myself, the people there believe that Coach Tuberville will prioritize the needs of the people over special interests. Just as Donald Trump attempted to “drain the swamp” in Washington, Tuberville is ready to tackle the entrenched political class in Montgomery, which has created a disconnect between citizens and their government.
Track Record of Conservative Leadership
Senator Tuberville didn’t seek out a position in D.C. for its prestige; he went there to lead. When the Biden administration tried to push for abortion on demand through the Department of Defense, Tuberville stood firm, refusing to back down on military promotions until those policies were reconsidered.
Despite pressure from the media and even members of his party, Tuberville maintained his stance because his principles matter. That’s the kind of leadership we need in Montgomery.
He has consistently supported President Trump’s agenda, fought for border security, backed school choice, and opposed overreach in our constitution. He brought discipline and clarity to Washington’s chaos, and he’s ready to apply that same determination to reforming the sluggish political system in Alabama.
Coach Tuberville has proven he can lead under pressure. He knows how to unify people, create strategic plans, and maintain focus when challenges arise. These qualities go beyond mere political rhetoric; they are essential traits for Alabama’s next governor. We’re not just looking at policy changes; we’re at a crucial cultural and economic crossroads.
Alabama’s Challenge: It’s Not Just About Democrats
Honestly, Alabama’s issues aren’t solely about Democrats. The real problem lies with those who pretend to be conservative. The Republican majority has instead expanded government instead of downsizing it. The Alabama 2025 general fund budgets increased by almost 10%, reaching a staggering $3.7 billion, the highest ever.
Rather than easing the financial burden on families, they’re sitting on a budget surplus and haven’t eliminated state income taxes, even as neighboring states have reduced or removed theirs. Instead of trimming bloated institutions, they have quietly raised salaries and benefits while flooding the committees with conservative bills.
This isn’t what fiscal conservatism looks like; it feels more like a convenient excuse.
The Tuberville Campaign Is Our Fight
What distinguishes Tuberville is his willingness to name names and challenge the status quo. Just as Trump exposed corruption in Washington, Tuberville is prepared to shine a light on insider dealings in Montgomery.
He won’t shy away from confronting the establishment; he’ll bulldoze right through it. But here’s the key point: he can’t do this alone.
We need to support him with a strong conservative team. This means confronting RINOs in the primaries and finding civic-minded leaders who understand government should serve the people, rather than special interests or lobbyists.
Tuberville has already put forward a vision focused on economic growth and fostering a business-friendly environment. He understands that job creation hinges on empowering small business owners, slashing red tape, and ensuring tax policies encourage, rather than penalize, entrepreneurship.
What Should a Conservative Team Do?
If reform is genuinely on the agenda for Alabama, lawmakers must be prepared to fight.
- Eliminate state income tax: Compete with neighboring states and support working families.
- Enhance budget transparency: Promote accountability across all institutions, especially in education and public health.
- Cultural preservation: Prevent woke ideologies from infiltrating our schools and libraries.
- Pro-life, pro-family legislation: Strengthen parental rights and protect children.
- Term limits and ethical reforms: Break the grip of career politicians.
These aren’t radical notions; if you’re not influenced by Montgomery’s donor class, they’re just common sense.
The 2026 Election: A Pivotal Moment
Governor Kay Ivey’s time in office is ending, and the excuses must end too. The 2026 election is a chance to reset our direction. But action is needed, and we must stay engaged. Simply voting red isn’t enough; we need to vote right.
As we did nationally in 2016 and 2020, Alabama conservatives need to rise up and reclaim our state. Tuberville’s campaign should be the rallying point for a new generation of leaders who want to steer clear of backroom deals and bureaucratic nonsense. They aim to restore Alabama to its conservative foundation.
A Coach Who Knows Winning
As a former coach, Tuberville gets what many politicians miss: success stems from preparation, discipline, and an unyielding drive to win. He knows how to build teams, perform under pressure, and deliver results.
He recognizes who the real opponents are and is unafraid to confront them, whether they are liberal Democrats, disconnected bureaucrats, or complacent Republican senators.
Starting the Process of Change
This isn’t solely about one individual; it’s about sparking a movement.
A movement aimed at reforming a government that has grown too bloated and disconnected from the citizens it serves.
A movement to restore conservative values in our schools, economy, and communities.
It’s about making Alabama once more a beacon of strong and principled leadership.
Coach Tuberville is stepping onto the field. It’s time for the rest of us to suit up.
Let’s support him with the team he needs. We must bring genuine conservatives to every district, retire RINOs, and renew the Republic in the heart of Dixie.
This is a mission, and addressing the issues in Montgomery isn’t merely a slogan.
