Senator Katie Britt Critiques Democratic Immigration Policies
US Senator Katie Britt has delivered pointed criticism aimed at recent Democratic immigration strategies, specifically highlighting concerns about undocumented immigrants with violent criminal histories and the implications for safety in American communities.
On a recent evening show, host Katie Publich raised questions about the gathering of Democrats and protesters outside New Jersey immigration detention centers, where individuals with such violent pasts are housed.
“It’s pretty obvious where the Democrats stand,” Britt (R-Montgomery) asserted. “They seem to be siding with child molesters and gang members who prey on the most vulnerable.”
Britt continued, emphasizing that Republicans are firmly supportive of American citizens. “I’m honestly baffled by the lack of energy from Democrats over the last few years. Our borders are being overrun daily. Where has their passion been?”
Britt labeled the Biden administration’s approach to immigration as ineffective. She praised former President Donald Trump and the Republican leadership for their dedication to securing borders and safeguarding Americans. Citing a significant drop in border crossings, she argued that enforcement actions rather than new laws have been effective in addressing the crisis.
“The reported 93% decline in border crossings is astonishing,” Britt said. “It shows that if there’s a will, there’s definitely a way. Clearly, the Democrats just don’t have the resolve.”
She also called into question past Democratic assertions that new legislation was necessary to secure borders. “Democrats claimed that only laws could effectively close borders, as part of bipartisan efforts, but that’s just not true. It’s all about will and intent,” she explained.
Britt expressed frustration at what she described as a Democratic effort to shield individuals with criminal records from deportation. “They’ve pushed for large laws that essentially granted pardons to millions, including those with criminal backgrounds from their home countries,” she remarked.
Highlighting the priority of removing such individuals, she assured that Republicans will continue to back border enforcement and immigration personnel. “We stand behind law enforcement. We appreciate the hard work done by CBP and ICE. We will utilize every possible resource to ensure safety within the United States,” she concluded.
