Safford Library Introduces “Color Our World” Summer Reading Program

(Safford, Arizona) – The Safford City-Graham County Library is inviting everyone, regardless of age, to join the Summer 2025 Reading Program starting Monday, June 2nd.

This year’s theme, Color Our World, embraces creativity and presents a range of free activities aimed at encouraging the community to read, learn, and connect all summer long.

“Summer reading programs are fantastic for the whole family. They really help kids keep their language and reading skills sharp during the break,” mentioned library director Victoria Silva.

During the first week, there will be an All Age Art Night where participants can transform discarded items into works of art. Additionally, the library will host its annual free community pool party on Thursday, June 5th, at the Safford Pool from 6 PM to 8 PM.

This summer promises a variety of activities, from art classes to storytime sessions. Two favorites—indoor mini golf and escape rooms—will return in July. Residents over eight years old can also pick up rubber ducks at the library, decorate them, and bring them back for display.

Participants can use the BeanStack app over the summer to earn pool passes, state park passes, and other prizes while tracking their reading minutes for a chance at the grand prize draw.

“This summer is all about color and creativity, giving our community a chance to celebrate both art and reading. Some of my best childhood memories are tied to the summer reading program,” said Silva.
