Candlelight Vigil for Emily Pike Held at Apache Gold Casino
In February 2025, authorities in Gila County found the dismembered body of 14-year-old Emily Pike from the San Carlos Apache tribe. Following this tragic discovery, a Multi-Agency Task Force has been established to find her killer.
Emily was last seen in late January at a group home located on McKellips Road. Her remains were located about 100 miles away, in a wooded area near Grove. The Pinal County Medical Examiner’s office is involved, but as of now, the cause and circumstances surrounding her death remain under investigation.
Details about why Emily left the group home and how she ended up near Grove are still unclear. “There are two things we know: she was last seen, and then they found her,” shared her uncle, Allred Pike Jr.
He expressed frustration over the slow progress of the investigation but urged for patience, pointing out that gathering proper information can be a lengthy process.
As of Tuesday, no suspects have been identified, according to the Gila County Sheriff’s Office. They mentioned having surveillance footage that could be useful, although no specifics were given about its content or location.
The Sheriff’s Office has formed a task force that includes multiple agencies, such as the San Carlos Apache Police and the FBI, to collaborate on the investigation. This development followed an announcement from the San Carlos Apache tribe offering a reward of $75,000 for information leading to an arrest in Emily’s case.
“If this doesn’t push people to share info, then maybe investigators will struggle to find the person responsible,” Pike noted, emphasizing the need for community support in their effort.
Additionally, an online tip portal has been set up for anyone willing to provide anonymous information regarding the case. The San Carlos Apache police can be reached directly, with contact numbers provided for tips.
Interestingly, the Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a body had previously been found in a similar area back in September 2021, but they do not believe there is a connection between the two incidents.
