2 arrested in seizure of $2 million worth of fentanyl in Tucson

A months-long drug trafficking investigation resulted in the arrest of two men and the seizure of $2 million worth of fentanyl and other drugs and weapons.

On February 2, Arizona Department of Public Safety detectives issued a search warrant in the South 6th Street and East Adjoway areas.

During the search, detectives seized 93.9 pounds of fentanyl tablets, 2.9 pounds of methamphetamine, and 0.56 pounds of heroin.

They also seized two cars, $6,593 in cash, two rifles, one stolen handgun and 152 rounds of ammunition, an official news release said.

Eloy’s 40-year-old Daniel Chavez Chan and Tucson’s 41-year-old Victor Bracamonte Miranda were incarcerated at the Pima County Jail.

Both men were arrested on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of narcotics for sale, and illegally carrying a weapon.

Chan and Miranda remained in custody on February 8.
