Alabama Trucking Association appoints Clinton Seymour to a new safety position

Alabama Truck Association Appoints New Safety Director

The Alabama Truck Association announced on Thursday the hiring of Clinton Seymour as the senior director of safety intelligence and regulatory issues.

Seymour brings extensive experience to this role, having previously led the Southeast safety program and compliance efforts as a senior official with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. He recently worked as a field manager for the southern region. Prior to his time at FMCSA, he had a successful career in insurance. The association highlighted that Seymour’s diverse background positions ATA members to enhance compliance, minimize risks, and boost profitability through improved operational practices and employee training.

“Clinton’s extensive experience is invaluable for Alabama truck companies facing significant challenges in the industry today. Our mission at the Alabama Truck Association is to empower our members,” the association stated.

Daniel Wright, president of Mobile Wright Transport and chairman of the Alabama Truck Transport Board, remarked, “We are fortunate to have someone of Clinton’s caliber available as a resource.”

In addition to his new role, Seymour also offers strategic services to key funds like Alabama’s Top Self-Insured Workers’ Compensation Fund and the Top Self-Insured Workers’ Compensation Fund for the Transport Industry.

Kimble Coaker, CEO of ATA Comp Fund, expressed, “Clinton is well-regarded as a bridge builder who recognizes that safety and profitability go hand in hand with effective leadership and strategic planning. We’re thrilled to have him on board after years of dedication and focus.”

Seymour’s responsibilities include collaboration with the ATA Safety and Maintenance Management Council, leading training initiatives, and providing resources to risk managers and policyholders. He will prioritize on-site consultations, educational programming, and tailored support to help trucking businesses enhance compliance, foster team culture, and achieve sustainable growth and profitability. He also aims to strengthen relationships with key regulatory partners such as USDOT/FMCSA and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

“I’m excited to support the dedicated members of the Alabama Truck Transport Association and the ATA Comp Fund,” Clinton Seymour said. “In my previous roles, I closely collaborated with associations, universities, and law enforcement, driven by a united mission to save lives and drive commerce.”

Operating out of Montgomery, Seymour works hand-in-hand with leaders and members of the Alabama Truck Transport Association and ATA Comp Fund, alongside long-time safety expert Tim Frazier, who remains in an advisory capacity.
