McElroy shares surprising possibility about Saban possibly returning to coaching

SEC Media Day Kicks Off in Atlanta

SEC Media Day launched on Monday morning in Atlanta, marking the unofficial beginning of the college football season.

Fans, eagerly awaiting the start of the season, are hanging on every piece of information, as coaches, players, and reporters share insights that feel almost precious at this point.

The excitement sparked early during “Radio Row” when former Alabama quarterback and current SEC analyst Greg McElroy dropped some intriguing news on WJOX in Birmingham. He mentioned hearing something quite wild from a reliable source.

According to McElroy, this source suggested that former Alabama coach Nick Saban may not be done coaching just yet.

“Now, this might seem a bit off-topic, but the question came up… People who I really respect seem to think Saban’s coaching days aren’t over,” McElroy explained. “Their vibe is that Saban will be back on the sidelines.” Though he kept his source under wraps, he did hint that it was someone well-known.

When Finebaum asked McElroy for his take, the latter was quite a bit more confident than Finebaum, who was skeptical.

If what McElroy and his mysterious source suggested turns out to be valid, Saban’s return could eclipse the significance of his retirement announcement.

It’s tough to say whether he might jump back into a college role, take another shot in the NFL, or even coach his grandson in youth football.

Fans may need to actually see it to believe it, but McElroy seems to think he’s onto something big with this report.
