Georgia Rep. Hank Johnson Calls for Epstein File Release Through Song
On Monday, Democrat Representative Hank Johnson from Georgia shared a video of himself singing, urging for the release of a file related to Jeffrey Epstein.
The video comes after the release of two pages of leaked notes and prison footage claiming Epstein’s death was a suicide, along with assertions disputing the existence of a “client list.” In his post on X, Johnson used music to call for more transparency.
“Rep. Hank Johnson is here to offer you a bit of musical commentary,” he stated while strumming his guitar. He then proceeded with an unusual performance.
“Epstein died by suicide, or are you just ignoring that? We demand you release the file; it’s time to stop hiding,” he sang, emphasizing the need for disclosure in a rather poetic way.
Previously, Attorney General Pam Bondy suggested that there was a review of the alleged client list. However, a memo published on July 6 by the administration asserted that no such list existed and that Epstein’s death in his New York City prison in 2019 was indeed a suicide.
This week, the House of Representatives might vote on whether to compel the Trump administration to make Epstein-related records public. A Democratic lawmaker from California intends to introduce an amendment concerning this on Tuesday in connection with a cryptocurrency bill.
The House Rules Committee will examine the cryptocurrency proposal during a markup hearing on Tuesday and is set to discuss potential amendments. Given its 9-4 Republican majority, this committee generally aligns with key decisions made by House GOP leadership.
