Netanyahu Shares Strong Praise for Obama’s Presence

Netanyahu Discusses Obama on Full Send Podcast

In a recent interview on the Full Send Podcast, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged that former President Barack Obama possesses an “aura.” This conversation took place with hosts Kyle Forteard and Jesse Sebaschani as they navigated Netanyahu’s interactions with various U.S. presidents, including Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

“I don’t agree with everything he did, but Obama is still cool,” Netanyahu commented. He seemed to convey a sort of reverence for Obama, saying, “He has an aura. Do you know what that means?”

Netanyahu went on to express that while he recognizes Obama’s significant talents, they held fundamentally different views of the world. “I don’t think he is a weak person,” Netanyahu added, emphasizing his own perspective on leadership.

One major point of contention for Netanyahu was Obama’s approach to Iran’s nuclear ambitions, which he identified as a significant source of disagreement. “I thought it was absolutely essential to make sure Iran does not have nuclear weapons,” Netanyahu argued, contrasting that with Obama’s strategy of negotiation. “He viewed it differently… I don’t think he did that. I mean, he basically made a deal that paved their way with money for nuclear weapons.”

Reflecting back to 2015, Netanyahu recalled his testimony before Congress regarding the Comprehensive Plan of Action. He voiced Israel’s stance against Iran’s aggressive intentions, stating, “Iran envelops the whole world with its terrifying tentacles.” At that time, he felt it was his moral obligation to address these dangers directly.

He described the experience of testifying as “not easy,” but felt it was crucial for Israel’s safety. “I thought the fate of my country was at stake, so I did it. We thought we could be wiped out by the Iranians,” he remarked.

Even a decade later, Netanyahu stands by his initial opposition to Obama’s policies. He clarified, “It’s not because of a lack of respect, but because of disagreement. People oppose it, and in politics you often compromise.”
