A CCSO Deputy Is Involved In A Crash In Kachina Village Friday – KAFF News – Flagstaff

A Coconino County Sheriff’s Office deputy was involved in an accident in Kachina Village Friday afternoon. Around 2:39 p.m., Dollar received a call of a woman who had set a car on fire and was acting strangely in the parking lot of her General Store, officials said. Her agent contacted the driver and she was very upset. As her lieutenant was trying to defuse the situation, she pulled her car back and backed up rapidly, knocking her lieutenant down in the parking lot, after which the driver sped forward and knocked the co-pilot to the ground. I almost hit it. The vehicle headed north on the Kachina Trail, turned around and began heading south. Given the driver’s erratic and dangerous behavior so far, the deputy decided to use a police car to stop the suspect vehicle, resulting in a collision. The driver still refused to get out of the car and cooperate. Another agent arrived on the scene to assist. After a brief struggle, one of her agents tased her woman and took her into custody. Officials said the bumper had evidence of a recent fire. The woman was taken to Flagstaff Medical Center with minor injuries, while the Dollar General deputy was treated and released with minor injuries. Charges against the woman are pending.
