Supreme Court Justice to Appear on ‘The View’
Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor is set to make an appearance on “The View” on September 9, just after the show’s new season premieres. This will mark one of her first guest spots as the co-hosts return from their summer break in August, after concluding the previous season.
Sotomayor sits among the three liberal justices on the Supreme Court and seems to align with the show’s co-hosts on various issues, particularly around topics like abortion and affirmative action. Notably, she dissented in the landmark decision that overturned Roe v. Wade, which ultimately shifted abortion regulations back to individual states.
Appointed by President Obama, she has also commented on the court’s ruling regarding affirmative action, asserting that the decision essentially promotes racism within university admissions. The court ruled 6-3 against using race as a primary factor in those decisions.
Interestingly, “The View” has not featured any conservative guests or supporters of former President Donald Trump in 2025, despite ongoing political discussions. A study highlighted how the co-hosts often favored liberal guests, including a recent Democrat who missed a segment with Whoopi Goldberg.
In a notable past interview, former Vice President Kamala Harris expressed hesitance about collaborating with President Biden before the upcoming 2024 election, stating her desire to see change. Additionally, Whoopi Goldberg previously urged Sotomayor to consider stepping down from the Supreme Court during a segment aired in April.
