Knpstein, who hails from Wisconsin, provides virtual presentations that cater to photographers at all skill levels, from novices to seasoned pros.
With accolades on both national and international stages, he shares a diverse portfolio showcasing scenes from the Midwest, which has been displayed in 23 countries globally.
During his presentation, Michael will discuss the various markets available to photographers today. He will also share insights into how audiences require different approaches to conversations around photography, including aspects like distribution, pricing, and even the art itself.
Recognized worldwide for his thoughtful visual representation of the Midwest, Knpstein was named one of “14 inspirational American artists” by Skillshare. His work has been featured in more than 325 exhibitions across museums, galleries, and festivals. Over his career, he has garnered more than 350 awards from some of the most prestigious photo festivals and competitions, with pieces showcased in numerous public, private, and corporate collections.
Interestingly, Michael began capturing attention for his photography while still in high school. At just 17, he became the youngest photographer to have a solo exhibition at the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, specifically in the Steenbock Gallery of Arts and Letters. The following year, his work was accepted into the permanent collection at the George Eastman House International Photography Museum.
After completing his studies at the College of Art at the University of Wisconsin, Knpstein kicked off a 30-year career in advertising. He held various creative and leadership roles, eventually leading one of the largest advertising agencies in Wisconsin. His time there greatly influenced his use of design, eye movement tracking, semiotics, and storytelling in photography.
Attendance at presentations hosted by the Sedona Camera Club is free for members, while guests will pay a $5 fee. Local photographers are encouraged to participate, as this fosters greater interest in photography and helps bring in high-quality speakers for skill development.
