Sedona News – The Sedona International Film Festival will present “Picasso: A Parisian Rebel” as part of its “Great Art on Screen” series. The film will have its Sedona premiere on Tuesday and Sunday, July 16 and 21, at 3:30 p.m., in the festival’s Alice Gill Sheldon Theater.
“Great Art on Screen” is a documentary series that takes an in-depth look at some of the most extraordinary and groundbreaking artistic masters of our time.
Fifty years after his death, we journey through Pablo Picasso's Paris, tracing its light and shadow, its convictions and contradictions, and his journey from a young, poor foreigner to one of the most important icons of the 20th century.

Shifting constantly to and from the Picasso Museum in Paris, which houses the largest surviving collection of art by the artist with 6,000 masterpieces and 200,000 archival documents, the film follows him through the Parisian neighbourhoods he lived in, from his early years in an unheated studio to the large middle-class apartment where his success began.
“Picasso: A Paris Rebel” is a physical and intellectual journey that will lead you to a deeper understanding of Picasso's work and mind.
The Great Art on Screen Series is made possible through the generous support of Goldenstein Gallery.
“Picasso: A Parisian Rebel” will screen at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and Sunday, July 16 and 21, at the Alice Gill Sheldon Theatre. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $13 for festival members.
