YUMA, Arizona (KYMA, KECY-TV) – Unstable weather patterns will hit the region, bringing a series of storms from the Pacific Ocean.
This active weather pattern will bring several effects to the southwestern part of the desert, including cooler, wetter and windier conditions.
Martin Luther King holiday weekend will see several days of rain, starting as early as Saturday night and expected to continue through Monday.
Wind gusts of 20 to 25 mph are expected in most areas of Yuma and Imperial counties through Sunday, bringing cooler temperatures and gusty winds.

With all the rainfall potential in our area, rain can accumulate, but it looks light.

From Saturday night through Sunday morning, gusty winds will blow in the west with wind bulletins in the southwest corner and west of Imperial County.
The wind is coming from the southwest with speeds of 20-30 MPH and gusts up to 50 MPH.
