PIMA — A weekend full of ghosts, goblins and parties in the Gila Valley.
The Halloween festivities begin on Thursday, October 27th with the first day of the 4th Annual Terror at the Museum.
Admission is $5, and the haunted house is a fundraiser for the Eastern Arizona Museum and the Historical Society of Pima. The Haunted House runs Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Monday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
For those who want to enjoy Halloween without fear, the museum offers special shows.
“At 10 am on Saturday 29th October some of the volunteers will be there and… not a scary tour. So from 10 am to 11 am people will be there. charges $5.They can walk through and see the illuminated decorations and see that there are no live actors there.”Clint Woods, Museum Director. Many people just want to see. They want to see what we create. ”
For those not afraid of fear, the FFF Clubhouse presents a haunted house every Friday and Saturday from 7-9pm. Admission is $5 and requires a can of non-perishable food that will be donated to a local food bank. The FFF Clubhouse Haunted House is located at 871 E. Ceairra Linda in Safford.
On Friday, with additional support from the Graham County Chamber of Commerce, the Pima Parent-Teacher Organization will host its annual Halloween Carnival at the high school football field from 5-9pm.
“It looks like a lot of fun,” said Brooke Curley of the Chamber of Commerce. “Bouncy Castle (and) featuring some mechanical bulls. Meg’s Place, Kainoa’s, (Dug’s Blowin’ Smoke) Barbecue, Shelby Cakes. All kids 4 and under are free .”
There’s also Dummy Rope, an inflatable obstacle course, and the Chamber of Commerce hosts a cornhole tournament and announces the winners of a costume contest.
Also on Friday from 4pm to 9pm Multi Vendor Events will be hosting a Freaky Friday event t Tractor Supply in Thatcher. The event will offer jumping castles, face painting, food trucks, other vendors, giveaways and more. The first 20 people will receive a bag of sweets.
On Saturday, the VFW Post in Thatcher hosts the Gila Valley Makers Market Halloween event from 9am to 5pm. Featuring trick or treat, food, shopping and more.
Arizona Dodge in Safford hosts a trunk or treat and costume party event from 2pm to 4pm.
The Greenlee County Substance Abuse Coalition will host its third annual truck-or-treat event at GiMees Restaurant in York Valley on Saturday from 5-8:30 pm. The band at Hotel Transylvania starts playing as the sun sets.
Also on Saturday, Greenlee County hosts the Fall Festival at the Greenlee County Fairgrounds in Duncan. Trunk or Treat runs from 5:30pm to 7:00pm, with a pumpkin carving contest, costume contest, food, games and a family movie starting at 6:30pm.
On Sundays from 10am to 4pm, the Clifton Merchant Market on Coronado Avenue hosts the Trunk Auto Treat Bash with face painting, candy, vendors and live music by Zily Windsor and Jace Hughes.
Halloween Monday at Lighthouse Medical Center in Safford from 4-6pm, Home Depot in Thatcher from 6-8pm, Trip Canyon Road in Pima from 6-7:30pm. Trunk or treat available.
