The Dolphins leader partnered with USAA, the NFL's official salute partner, and the Marine Corps Association to give a veteran (and his brother) one of the best gifts you can give. During his time in the United States Marine Corps (1995-2007), Purple Heart recipient John “Jonessy” Jones was assigned to several units, served in multiple roles, and ultimately become a sergeant.

During his 12 years of service, Jones was deployed to Iraq, Yemen, Bahrain, Thailand, Japan, Germany, and Spain. In 2005, his car was struck by an anti-tank mine that caused him to lose both legs below the knee.

I like this for two reasons. 1. It's no surprise that one of our elite hes earns a legendary berth to the Super Bowl. 2. Through him, my Miami and his Dolphins will have representation in this year's Super Bowl.

It feels like a win-win to me.
