Pollster Frank Luntz said Wednesday that the disdain former President Donald Trump showed toward Vice President Kamala Harris during Tuesday's debate may have derailed his campaign.

“In fact, he doesn't look at her. I'm watching this again and as a debate coach, I'm like, look at me! Pay attention. He's either looking at the camera or the moderator and doesn't seem to accept that she's there,” Luntz said. “And by the way, do you know what that feels like? All these women who remind you of their husbands or boyfriends, and he's just ignoring what they have to say and being disrespectful and belittling. And it's annoying the women who are watching. Trump can't just win men, he has to win women…Donald Trump reminds women of their first husband's divorce lawyer. This is just tragic.”
“Right now, the gender gap is pretty even. She's up 15, 17 points among women and he's up 13, 14 points among men. So the disparity in the number of female voters is like a mirror image of each other… I'm really glad they showed that video because the disrespect that he shows her is going to penalize female voters, especially older female voters, otherwise I might have voted for him,” he added. “And you'll see this in the polls. It'll take four or five days to show up, but I think this could be a fatal mistake for Trump.”
CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten said in August that Harris' leads in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin were due to the vice president's better support among female voters.
“Women voters are energized and that's why Kamala Harris overturned Joe Biden's lead,” Enten said.
Harris is still leading in the polls in Michigan and Wisconsin, but is tied with Trump in Pennsylvania. According to Poll averages collected by RealClearPolitics.
Enten also warned Monday that Harris' presidential bid could be doomed if she fails to regain her lead over Trump in Pennsylvania.
“Okay, so if Kamala Harris wins Pennsylvania, she'll win the Electoral College,” he said.
“But let's take Pennsylvania out of Kamala Harris' column and put it in Donald Trump's column. What happens if Trump is the betting favorite to win Pennsylvania and we flip Pennsylvania red? Well, look here,” he said. “Donald Trump wins the Electoral College. 287 electoral votes to Kamala Harris' 251. That's why I say this is crucial.”
