‘Absolutely Psychotic’: Dakota Johnson Reflects On Working With Blue Screen For CGI Effects

Dakota Johnson talked about her adventures while filming Madame Web in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Playing the character Cassandra Webb, Johnson navigated the experience of acting against a blue screen backdrop and surrounded by simulated chaos and explosions. This was a first in her career. Johnson humorously described her challenge of reacting to a non-existent explosion.

“I've never really done a movie where you get a blue screen and there's a fake explosion and someone yells, 'Explosion!' and you act like there's an explosion,” Johnson said. entertainment weekly. “It was completely psychotic for me. I was like, 'I have no idea if this is going to work!' I hope it worked! ”

Despite the unrealistic nature of this technique, Johnson's faith in director S.J. Clarkson's vision remained unwavering. “I believed [Clarkson]. She fondly recalls a particularly exhilarating day on set when a stunt involving a taxi ramming into a diner was performed. Unfortunately, she never had the opportunity to perform any stunts herself. “We couldn't actually bring the car into the diner, which was a real shame. We really wanted to do that, but they didn't want to put the lead actor at any real risk, unless it was Tom Cruise. “Sho,” she added.
