U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt, along with several of his Republican colleagues, is fighting back against what he believes is an attempt to infringe on gun owners' free speech rights.

Mr. Aderholt (R-Haleyville) joined a court brief led by Sen. Ted Budd (RN.C.) and Rep. Richard Hudson (RN.C.) in the Supreme Court case. NRA vs Vro.

The brief argues that this not only violates the rights of gun owners, but is also an attack on the rights of states.

“This case raises other constitutional issues,” the brief states. “In going after the NRA and gun rights advocates, Mr. Cuomo, Mr. Vullo, and Mr. DFS used New York state insurance laws to project power outside the state’s borders. Their agenda is a push toward federalism. It raises concerns.”

U.S. Representative Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) also signed the brief, bringing the total to 18 senators and 62 members of the House of Representatives.
