AEA Federal Credit Union opens San Luis branch

The AEA Federal Credit Union officially opened a new full-service branch in San Luis on Thursday.

The facility, located in South Valley Center on Main Street, will be the credit union’s fourth retail location in Yuma County. Other locations are in Yuma and Somerton.

The San Luis branch features a full-service teller and drive-up, a separate office and service spot, three ATMs, and a community room that can be used as meeting space by local nonprofits.

AEA president and CEO Adele Sandberg told KAWC that the San Luis branch has nine employees and is the only one open on Saturdays.

“[It]isn’t just about creating jobs and connecting with the community, it’s about making a difference in the community,” Sandberg said. We have,” he said. This community is definitely underserved. There are not enough financial institutions here. For us, this was a no-brainer. “

Miriam Limon, AEA’s senior director of marketing, said the San Luis branch will be the only branch with an in-store usher to assist customers.

AEA is the underwriter of KAWC.
