Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth, Senate Pro-Tem Greg Reed, R-Jasper, Rep. Danny Garrett, R-Trussville, Rep. Kelvin Lawrence, D-Hayneville, and Helena Duncan, Chairman and CEO of the Business Council of Alabama (BCA). , and other state leaders are scheduled to hold a press conference today, January 23, at 10:30 a.m. to discuss plans for a bill to make Alabama's workforce development system one of the best in the nation.
The Legislature established the Lieutenant Governor Committee on the 21st. Century Workforce will develop a statewide workforce development plan in 2019. A bipartisan committee is currently preparing legislation to transform the state's approach to its workforce.
The 2024 legislative session begins on February 6th.
