Nate Oats also met at the Birmingham Tipoff Club on Monday afternoon and was asked by reporters about the possibility of new uniforms.
“I've heard something about that,” Oates told reporters. “The players are all fired up. I think they made it easy for the players. … It's for this weekend's game and they bring back (Antoine) Pettway's team that won. Because I think so.”
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Alabama's only Elite 8 team competing, and Coach Oats all but confirmed that the 2004 team will be recalled for the ceremony on Saturday.
Pettway had been an assistant at Alabama since 2008, but left this offseason to take the head coaching job at Kennesaw.
There's been a recent push for the old retro A's logo, and a new head football coach seems to be on board. Karen DeBoer He looks like he enjoys it every chance he gets.
Alabama will don its uniforms this weekend when it tips off against Texas A&M at 11 a.m. CT at Coleman Coliseum.
