Political figures in Alabama have expressed their backing for Israel as it aims to counter Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
On Friday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu detailed “Operation Rising Lion,” asserting that military action was crucial due to Iran’s close approach to developing nuclear capabilities.
Since the announcement, Iran has conducted extensive missile and drone attacks on various cities, including Tel Aviv and Haifa. Reports indicate that at least 24 Israelis have been killed and many others wounded.
Governor Kay Ivey shared on social media, expressing, “Alabama always stands proudly with Israel!”
Mike Rogers (R-Saks), who leads the House Armed Services Committee, has also made statements regarding the situation.
His office posted, indicating his serious stance on the Iranian threat.
Representative Dale Strong (R-Huntsville), a member of the Homeland Security Committee, referred to Iran as “a threat to the whole world,” particularly for Israel. He added, “When Israel fights for its existence, I pray for their safety.”
Strong voiced concerns over Iran being armed with nuclear capabilities, calling it a grave issue globally.
Senator Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) acknowledged President Trump’s support for allies in the Middle East, framing it as “peace through strength.” She reiterated her commitment to dismantling Iran’s nuclear program.
Britt expressed gratitude for Trump’s approach, emphasizing its importance for national security.
Attorney General Steve Marshall highlighted America’s firm stance alongside allies. “We stand firm with our allies who act to ensure our citizens’ safety,” he stated.
Marshall’s tweet reinforced the supportive sentiment for Israel.

The Alabama Rael Legislative Caucus, co-led by legislators David Faulkner (R-Mountain Brook) and Philip Insler (D-Montgomery), issued a statement affirming their solidarity with Israel in combatting threats. They expressed hopes for the success of Israeli military operations and urgent action against Iran’s nuclear threats.
The statement called for the United States to maintain its support for Israel during these tense times while wishing for a future marked by peace and a cessation of violence.
As hostilities continue, both Israel and Iran have escalated attacks over the weekend, highlighting the ongoing conflict.
