According to an incident report obtained by the media, Carawan initially denied being at the murder scene, but later recanted and admitted that he brought marijuana and homemade beer to the scene and killed the two women. Carawan also allegedly admitted that after killing the women, he threw the victims’ cellphones in a lake and their bloody clothes in a river. Police recovered a mobile phone and found a bag containing bloodstained clothing in a steam bath on Carawan’s property.
The court scheduled a preliminary hearing in the case for October 17.
