Alexander Toyota donates to Yuma Community Food Bank

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – Alexander Toyota is partnering with the Yuma Community Food Bank to show support by donating thousands of dollars to the nonprofit organization.

“We know their expenses have actually increased as food prices have skyrocketed due to the coronavirus, so we thought it would be a good event to give back to the community.” said Uma Alexander, general manager of Toyota Motor Corporation. Manager Mark Howard.

During the winter months of November through January, the dealership donated $100 to the food bank for every car sold.

The final total was $25,000.

Alexander Toyota also held a raffle where one lucky winner could win a new 2024 Toyota Corolla SE.

Yuma Food Bank CEO spoke about why days like this are so important.

“All of our partner companies make a huge difference in that they not only volunteer at food banks, they also conduct food drives and also collect donations. They also help our operating budget. Most of it comes from private donations, so having something like a private company is great,” he said. Sarah Whitehead.

In addition to money and a new car, the dealer will also give away a trunk full of food.
