ALFA supports Tuberville for Governor

The Alabama Farmers Federation (ALFA) has given its official backing to U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville as part of a 2026 initiative spearheaded by the Governor of Alabama.

With over 350,000 member families throughout all 67 counties, ALFA plays a significant role in political advocacy via its FarmPac, which currently supports Tuberville (R-Auburn).

President Jimmy Parnell noted that the unanimous endorsement from the Alabama Farmpack trustees showcases farmers’ appreciation for Tuberville’s efforts in Washington and confidence in his leadership.

“The Farmers Federation was one of the first to rally behind Coach Tuberville when he announced his Senate candidacy. They have not forgotten the support he garnered from Alabama farmers and rural communities,” Parnell stated. “He has been a true advocate for Alabama farmers and Southern agriculture and has aimed for a position on the Senate Agriculture Committee.”

Tuberville expressed his gratitude in return on Thursday.

“I appreciate the backing of the Alabama Federation of Farmers. As Alabama’s representative on the Senate Agriculture Committee, I’m determined to advocate strongly for our farmers. The inflation policies from the Biden administration have significantly impacted our agricultural sector,” he remarked.

“Fortunately, President Trump is back in the picture, actively working to lower prices and prioritize American farmers. As governor, I’ll collaborate with President Trump to support farmer success.”

Parnell mentioned Tuberville’s efforts in pushing for relief for farmers grappling with low commodity prices, steep production costs, and natural disasters.

“Farmers are experiencing their most severe financial challenges since the 1980s,” Parnell said. “When Congress failed to pass a new farm bill, Coach Tuberville, alongside other agricultural lawmakers, secured $10 billion for the 2025 U.S. Relief Act emergency product support program.”

As Alabama’s first elected senator actively engaged in Senate agriculture, Tuberville, who serves on the Nutrition and Forestry Committee, is focused on securing crop insurance, disaster relief, rural broadband, and emergency help. His office reports that he has earmarked $10 billion for farmers in 2025 to help lower input costs and enhance trade opportunities.

“Tuberville has consistently voiced strong support for low taxes, minimal government involvement, regulatory reforms, and conservative principles,” Parnell added. “We trust that he will bring this same business-minded approach to the state government.”

Today’s announcement indicates that FarmPac will be revealing further endorsements for the upcoming 2026 election over the coming months.
