A Maricopa woman was arrested on June 30 after allegedly assaulting her in her car and threatening him with a handgun, according to Maricopa Police.
The Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement details the incident as follows:
3:34 p.m., Maricopa Police Responded to housing on West Dutchman Drive in Maricopa Meadows. The alleged victim said she was beaten by Ashley M. Huff, who hung up because he had a gun. During the call, the dispatcher reported hearing the alleged victim and Hough, 31, shouting at each other before the call hung up. The victim said, “Go for it.”
When police arrived, the alleged victim ran out of the house toward them. Her lips were swollen and bloody.
The alleged victim said Huff was sitting near a local mailbox. Police found Huff there and handcuffed him.
Police found a firearm in one of Hough’s bags. Officers found methamphetamine and a meth pipe in another bag.
The alleged victim told officers that she and Hough had argued all day and Hough assaulted her while she was in her car. The alleged victim broke up with Huff and went home, but Huff turned up with a pistol. Huff entered her house and pointed a gun at her.
Huff admitted to the altercation and pointed a gun at the alleged victim, police said. Huff said the alleged victim threatened to destroy her dead family’s urn.
Police have obtained camera footage of Huff banging on the front door of the house with a firearm in hand.
Arizona defines a domestic violence relationship as one between a victim and a defendant who live or lived in the same household.
Huff was incarcerated in Pinal County Jail on charges of aggravated assault with a lethal weapon (domestic violence), possession of dangerous drugs, possession of a lethal weapon and dangerous drugs, disorderly conduct with a weapon (domestic violence), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
