Allegiant Expands Service in Huntsville
Allegiant Airlines has officially arrived in Rocket City.
During a press event at Huntsville International Airport, representatives announced the introduction of new non-stop routes to Fort Lauderdale, St. Petersburg/Clearwater/Tampa, and Orlando. The airline is set to resume this service at HSV in November.
It’s worth noting that Allegiant previously discontinued flights to Orlando and Fort Lauderdale back in 2008.
To celebrate this re-launch, Allegiant is offering one-way fares on the new routes starting at just $39.
The upcoming routes between Huntsville International Airport and the destinations include:
- Fort Lauderdale, starting November 19, for a one-way fare of $39.
- St. Petersburg, beginning March 5, 2026, also at a one-way fare of $39.
- Sanford, FL, launching February 12, 2026, with one-way fares again at $39.
Kristen Schilling Gonzalez, vice president of planning and revenue, expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome from the Huntsville community during the press conference. She emphasized Allegiant’s commitment to investing in the area, highlighting Huntsville’s vibrant spirit and hospitality.
“Today marks just the beginning of our commitment to the community,” she noted.
The new routes set to launch in 2023 and early 2026 will enhance Allegiant’s footprint at key leisure destinations.
Huntsville International Airport has received accolades as the top small airport in the U.S. from outlets like Newsweek and USA TODAY. In 2024, the airport accommodated over 1.6 million passengers, supported by five airlines serving 18 destinations.
Butch Roberts, the airport CEO, expressed enthusiasm about working with Allegiant, noting the strong demand for leisure travel in the area. He noted Allegiant’s role in connecting Huntsville to prominent Florida vacation spots.
“We’re excited to share this news with our community,” he said.
