Alligator sighting in Lake Havasu likely just a beaver

Lake Havasu, Arizona — Alligators? Crocodile? Mysterious monster emerging from the depths of Lake Havasu? rice field.

The photo reportedly shows a crocodile-like shape floating in Bridgewater Strait. HavasuNews.com Several police officers reported seeing animals floating in the water.

But AZGF’s Tom Cadden said it’s a common mistake. He told 12News that beaver sightings are common even when alligators are called out in urban areas. When police searched the area, they found no trace of the crocodile.

Perhaps more surprising is the fact that Arizona has beavers.according to Arizona Highway, these plump, semi-aquatic mammals often live near streams in montane forests and near lakes and rivers. They are nocturnal, can weigh up to 70 pounds, and are easily mistaken for humans.

Despite the funny story, AZGF officials don’t believe this is anything more than just a Bieber sighting.
