Almost 30 pounds of meth discovered during a traffic stop in northern Arizona.

A sheriff’s official in northern Arizona reported the arrest of a man following the discovery of a considerable amount of drugs in his vehicle.

What we know:

According to a statement from the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office released on August 13, K-9 units conducted a traffic stop related to a violation on August 10. The stop took place along Highway 89, near Milepost 424.

The statement revealed, “During the traffic stop, the aide agreed to search the vehicle. A search for the vehicle revealed 29.88 pounds of methamphetamine.”

What’s next:

Officials identified the suspect as 28-year-old Jesus Velázquez Bojórquez, who has since been booked into the Coconino County Detention Facility.

The statement concluded, “This issue is still under investigation.”
