April 5, 2023 at approximately 2:50 p.m. Graham County Communications
received a domestic situation call at the 400 block of W. Rustler Road, Safford.
The caller said a man was shot.

Upon arriving at the scene, they found one man with a gunshot wound and another with serious injuries.
Bleeding injuries of the face. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was initiated by law enforcement at the scene.

Stan French, 74, was also taken to Mount Graham Hospital with facial injuries.

The medical condition is unknown at this time.
During the preliminary stages of this investigation, the sheriff’s office learned of Derek.
Farah had a valid protective order limiting his contact with Stan
French when this incident happened.At this point in the investigation, it looks like Derek
Farrar broke into Stan French’s residence and assaulted him.
Stan French retrieved his handgun and shot Derek Farrar.
On April 5, 2023, the Sheriff’s Office, with the support of members of Safford,
