‘American Graffiti’ Star Lynne Marie Stewart Dies Suddenly At Age 78

Beloved actress Lynne Marie Stewart unexpectedly passed away on February 21st at her sister’s house in California at the age of 78.

Stewart was best known for her roles in 18 appearances in “American Graffiti,” “Pee Wee’s Playhouse,” and “Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” Her manager, Bette Smith, told TMZ doctors that in December he discovered Stewart had a tumor between his liver and gallbladder. “She was the most talented, interesting and most honorable person I’ve ever known,” Smith said. “My heart is broken when I hear the news that my dear friend Lynn Stewart has passed away. One of the kindest, sweet and funny women I have ever lived in. Pee Wee’s Playhouse The iconic Miss Yvonne: She will always be “the most beautiful woman in Doll Land.” 💔,” Peterson wrote to X.

Devito shared a heartfelt message on X.

“I miss Lynne Marie Stewart… It’s such a great spirit to work with at Sunny! All of her love for her family,” he wrote.

Stewart finished work on Ben Stiller’s upcoming film, The Dink, and was actively working on Always Always Sunny in Philadelphia just before his diagnosis.

The talented actress had less than 150 credits to her name. Her long list of roles includes several installments from the “Pee-Wee” series, including “Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure” and “Big Top Pee-Wee.” She appeared on “The Running Man,” and made multiple appearances on “M*A*S*H” and “Laverne & Shirley,” and had guest spots in dozens of other TV series. She appeared in “The Bridesmaid” as Mayardolph’s mother and was an animated voice performer for “The Mork & Mindy, Laverne & Shirley/Fonz Hour”, “The Puppy Named Scooby-Doo”, and “Batman: Animated Series.”
