The booing should have been loud, America! The booing must have been huge!
As I write this, the four-country showdown championship between the US and Canada was early in the game; 1-0 score It’s advantageous for Canadians. That being said, this blog is not about the game, it’s about what happened before.
Before the game, both countries played the national anthem, with Canada being first performed. Now, heading to the contest, there was a lot of hope as to whether Americans would respond to Canadians booing “starspangled banners” with their own boob birds. When we finally arrived at the Canadian national anthem, yeah, there were some boos, but nothing like what I and other Americans wanted. It was quite mixed up and I was disappointed as an American to be honest with you.
However, the Americans recovered with the absolute shining “America” chant shortly after the Canadian national anthem. And I’m right after that. It was a beautiful slap of that stupid little maple leaf!
But even so, our booing may have been huge.
You deserve Canada, but you got respect and American chant after your national anthem. Maybe next time, don’t remove your hatred of the government towards citizens and fans.
