According to Entertainment Weekly, Hollywood actress Amy Schumer revealed on Thursday that the main reason she turned down a role in ‘Barbie’ was that she was not feminist.
Before Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling were cast as Barbie and Ken, respectively, the screenplay written by Hillary Winston and produced by Sony at the time was the first choice to play the role of Mattel Toy Company’s beloved doll. It was Schumer. EW. In an interview, the actress revealed that the film wasn’t feminist enough for her and dropped her role.

“I can’t wait to see the movie. But there’s a new team behind it and it seems so feminist and cool, so I’m going to see this movie,” Schumer added.
“They definitely didn’t want to do what I wanted to do. that’s all That’s how I wanted to do it,” she told the outlet, adding that the original idea was to make Barbie an “inventor,” but instead Sony wanted Barbie’s invention to be shoes made out of Jell-O. I explained. “I should have said there ‘you picked the wrong woman’ to the idea that that’s what all women want.”
