Producers of “The View” had to suddenly silence part of the show’s audio on Monday to censor what co-host Ana Navarro said.
Republican co-hosts lashed out at Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis over misleading claims that Florida’s social studies curriculum cheated on slavery hours. Vice President Kamala Harris told a crowd Friday that Florida is teaching students that “enslaved people benefit from slavery” and that “the victims of genocidal violence were also perpetrators.”
Navarro’s words became so filthy that the audio had to be cut off abruptly.
“I live in Florida.
The producer cut the audio because she used the word “bullshit” twice. When the audio returns, she continues to rant about the Governor, in which she claims that “Blackie and his minions put together a curriculum and preached to viewers how slavery was “the darkest moment in American history.”
“How dare you do that. Shame on the people of Florida. What’s wrong with trying to cover up slavery?” Mr. Navarro continued. “Dear Florida Secretary of Education, Cuban-American Manny Diaz. [Fidel] Castro. Nothing without freedom. And for this guy, Ron DeSantis, the only skill he’s acquired is obviously lying and waking up a culture war that supposedly wins the president. That’s not why you’re down 33%. “
Dr. William B. Allen, a member of the African-American Historical Criteria Workgroup in Florida, told ABC News that Harris’ accusations about the curriculum were “completely false.” (Related: NYT columnist John McWhirter says DeSantis ‘did the right thing’ by banning AP’s African-American history course)
“As I said in my reply to the Vice President, this was completely false. It was never said that slavery was beneficial to Africans.
