State Senator Andrew Jones (R-Centre) plans to kick off his re-election campaign next week with events in Etowah and Cherokee counties.
Since the 2018 election, Jones maintains that he has built a legislative record that aligns with the conservative values of the 10th District, prioritizing the needs of his constituents.
He currently serves as the chairman of the Veterans Affairs, Military and Public Safety Commission, is the vice-chairman of the Tourism Commission, and is on the Senate Rules Committee.
“I ran for the state Senate because I witnessed firsthand how government impacts hardworking Alabamians, as both a business owner and a farmer,” Jones stated. “I’ve stayed true to my original platform and I’m proud of our accomplishments.”
“The communities in Etowah, Cherokee, and DeKalb elected me to advocate for them and secure resources from Montgomery. Millions have been allocated for infrastructure, high-speed internet, school facilities, and economic growth in our district.”
Senate President Pro Tem Garlan Gudger (R-Kalman) expressed strong support for Jones’ re-election efforts.
“Senator Jones is a determined advocate for his district and has earned the respect of his peers for his navigation through the legislative process,” Gudger commented. “He addresses challenging issues for our state and stands firm in his beliefs. Andrew has been a champion of conservative policies that benefit working Alabamians. I wholeheartedly support him in his re-election campaign.”
Jones is focused on legislation to enhance services for Alabama’s veterans and military families. His initiatives include efforts to create a statewide veteran resource center, expand mental health services for veterans, and establish a veteran accountability court. He also sponsored a bill to eliminate state income taxes for deployed service members and to ensure military dependents can participate in high school athletics post-relocation.
In his campaign announcement, Jones reflected on the supportive relationships among military spouses in Alabama and highlighted the state’s ranking in veteran retirement as a measure of its commitment to these communities.
The Alabama Republican primary election is set for Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
