Ann M. Archibald Obituary – Yuma, AZ

Ann was born September 17, 1951 in Sanpete County, Utah to the late Ellis and Ora Miller. She grew up in Manti, Utah, with her older siblings Bruce Miller and Faye Truitt. She wanted to be a nurse her whole life, so she graduated from Manti High School and earned her nursing degree from Weber State University. She met her husband and the love of her life, Bruce Archibald, on a blind date while pursuing her associate's degree. They were soon married on March 16, 1972 at the Manti LDS Temple. She and Bruce had their first child in Salt Lake City, added another child in Vernal, Utah, and then followed her warmth to Yuma, Arizona, where they raised their family. Three more children.

Ann has been a registered nurse for 40 years and spent most of her career working in labor and delivery at YRMC. There, she was affectionately nicknamed “Annie” by her colleagues. She loved her job and was loved and respected by her co-workers. She loved her grandchildren and she always took the time to teach them everything she knew. She loved animals, cooking everything from scratch, sewing, scrapbooking, Sudoku, and reading. She had a unique raucous laugh, which was passed on to her daughters. She was kind, wise, and a peacemaker by nature. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life and loved her years in the Presidency of the Church.

Ann loved her family and after her retirement, she spent her summers traveling with her husband to visit family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We know there was a joyful reunion in heaven with her parents, her eldest son Melbourne Wade Archibald, and her beloved dog Buddy.

She is survived by her husband Donald Bruce Archibald, children Stephanie Archibald (Jeff Ruth), Teri Brinda (Ed Brinda), Andrea Archibald (Chris Paynard), Kevin Archibald, and Angela Carlock (Kevin Carlock), and 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. .

Funeral services will be held on February 2, 2024 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building located at 4300 W. 16th St. Yuma, AZ 85364. A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. and a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Interment at Desert Lawn Memorial Park at noon.
