Another red flag warning is in effect south and east of Tucson, including the Isles of Skye, Santa Cruz, Cochise, Graham and Greenlee counties. It also includes Far East Pima and Pinal counties. Gusts of wind can reach 40 miles per hour, and combined with low humidity, fires can spread quickly. Remember, one less spark means one less wildfire. Another threat is dust rising in parts of southeastern Arizona. Be careful when traveling along Interstate 10 through Pima, Pinal, or Cochise counties.
Highs in the hottest spots today are pushing into the low 100s, and triple-digit heat will continue into next week. This weekend is set to be the hottest weekend so far this year, with highs of around 102-103 degrees Celsius.
