AOC Faces Criticism for Breaking a Key Principle of Modern Liberalism

AOC Faces Backlash for Mocking Stephen Miller’s Height

Recently, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez found herself in hot water after crossing a line in modern liberalism: body shaming others.

This stirred up when AOC made a comment about White House staffer Stephen Miller’s height, suggesting he was 4’10”, which I think could be considered average, at least. On an Instagram Live session, she stated, “He seems to be angry about the fact that he’s 4’10…and he seems to take that anger out on other people.” It felt like an unnecessary jab, maybe?

AOC also encouraged her followers to find amusement in the antics of Trump administration officials. It’s a bit of a mixed bag, isn’t it?

In response, Miller appeared on Fox News, clarifying that he is, in fact, 5’10”. It’s amusing how he took her comments to heart. However, not everyone was on board with AOC’s remarks. Some of her followers seemed quite embarrassed by what she said.

“I want to express my love for the Short King community. I don’t believe in body shaming,” AOC said, adding, “I’m talking about how big or small someone is on the inside.” She even brought up Andrew Tate, noting that, while he may seem short physically, “mentally he’s 6 feet.” That’s an interesting take, maybe too interesting?

She emphasized that if someone is a good father or an ally to women, they could feel as if they were taller, like 6’3″. Still, her message didn’t seem to hit the mark with many.

It’s great to see some of her followers call her out on this. Standing up to Trump is one thing, but taking a hard look at her own comments? That’s a different ballgame.

Remember, AOC: body shaming, even in jest, doesn’t really help anyone.
