Apache Junction Police: SPIDR Tech to improve communications with 911 callers

The Apache Junction Police Department recently implemented a new tool, SPIDR Tech, to enhance communication with 911 callers, reporters, crime victims, and gather feedback on interactions with police.

According to the release, using the SPIDR Tech platform, when a service call is sent to the dispatcher, the software will automatically text or email the reporter and 911 caller with an update on the call status and information. I will send.

Dispatchers receive calls and classify them using the dispatch system when collecting information. For example, domestic violence calls don’t trigger text messages to keep victims safe.

The platform was funded through a grant that fully covers the $30,000 cost of implementing SPIDR Tech, AJPD spokeswoman Rayna Steffen said in an email.

“Over the past few months, we have worked closely with SPIDR Tech to ensure that the technology is properly integrated into our system. We’ve had positive feedback from people,” says Steffen.

After police events and investigations, the SPIDR Tech platform helps AJPD collect feedback on the caller’s experience using mobile-friendly surveys, enabling community feedback on each individual’s experience in the department. .
