Apple TV released a trailer for “Napoleon” on Monday, and while it certainly looks like a very expensive movie, something seems a little different.

Starring Joaquin Phoenix in the title role, the film clearly follows Napoleon through his rise to French emperor and military leader, his toxic and addictive marriage to his wife Josephine (Vanessa Kirby), and his famous battles. seems to be chasing according to to the trailer. So, am I watching a shounen movie made for boys, something that boys will enjoy after watching a “Barbie” movie together over the summer? perhaps?

The first thing I noticed was that Phoenix was too tall. The point of Napoleon, at least in my opinion, is that he was small and mentally unstable, and therefore his reign was absurd. Director Ridley Scott put Phoenix alongside the smaller actor Tahar Rahim in the trailer, and I’m very confused. Should we assume that Napoleon surrounded himself with very short men to make himself feel better? perhaps?

His wife (Kirby) looks taller than Napoleon in most scenes, so maybe the trailer is just bad? there will be no people

What we ladies enjoy is that Ridley Scott chose Phoenix to star. In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with Phoenix, so I feel this is a fair balance for a “Barbie” movie. (Related: Review: ‘Shoresy’ is a spinoff of ‘Letterkenny’ taking North America by storm)
