‘Are You Embarrased’: Jesse Watters Spars With Democratic Chair Jane Kleeb On Immigration Policy And Party Image

Fox News host Jesse Watters clashed with Nebraska Democratic Party Chair Jane Cleave over immigration policy and the Democratic Party's image on Fox News on Wednesday.

Cleaves exterior On “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Watters suggested Democrats don't understand Vice President Kamala Harris' political identity and policy stances. Watters quickly went after Cleave.

“Are you embarrassed to see that all of the Democrats have no idea about who Kamala wants to be or what she wants to become?” Watters asked the Democratic chairman.

“No, I'm thinking about a couple of things. First, I see camera footage like this at Trump rallies,” Cleave replied. “And I feel sorry for the Trump supporters who are asked questions on the spot about the economy and immigration and get so nervous they can't speak.”

“Are you saying if you ask a Trump rally-goer what Trump's plan is for the border, they can't tell you?” the moderator asked Cleave. (Related: 'Scared to face her record of failure': Trump campaign senior adviser claims media bias allowed Biden and Harris to 'scam' voters)

“They're definitely going to say shut down immigration stations and arrest 12 million people. We all know that. We all know that's not real immigration policy,” Cleave replied. “We know that Republicans and Democrats have come together on a bipartisan immigration policy. Trump is not going to pass it because he says that's not good politics.”

Watters then asked the committee how Trump was able to pass the policy when he was not in elected office at the time.

“This is when he was president. There was a bipartisan plan. Democrats and Republicans worked together and Trump said, 'I'm not going to do that. It's not good politics,'” Cleave said.

“I don't remember that. I remember the border being pretty heavily secured. You look at the numbers and I'm right,” Watters interjected, denying Cleave's claim.
