‘Are You Kidding Me?’: Former ‘The View’ Co-Host Elisabeth Hasselbeck Slams Kamala Harris’s ‘Lack Of Ability’

Former “The View” co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck slammed 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris as “incompetent” on “Hannity” on Friday.

Hasselbeck told Fox News' Sean Hannity that “The View” “does not represent” the perspectives of American female voters and said she doubts any of the talk show's panelists would publicly admit to voting for 2024 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

The former co-host of “The View” blasted the show as “just part of the media swarm” that punishes conservative women. She blasted the media for promoting Harris as an approachable figure, noting that approachability doesn't mean the vice president can do the job.

“The media's latest tactic, and really everyone needs to wake up to this, is they're trying to convince the American voter that friendliness is the same as competence, and it's not!” Hasselbeck told Hannity.

“You just talked about Kamala Harris allegedly eating a bag of Doritos and you're very emotional hearing this,” she continued. “And that's the commander in chief. Is that the emotional response of a world leader? Gobbling down a bag of Doritos? Are you kidding me?”

“Can you imagine Putin dealing with things, guzzling a bag of Sour Patch Kids because he's upset that things aren't going his way? Or Soleimani chugging swill back in the day? I can't imagine it. Whether you agree with who they lead or not, I don't think that's the actual response of an elite leader. The cloud of empathy that hangs over Americans right now is just to cover up a lack of competence. Kamala Harris failed on the border, so what do we do, give her the Earth? Are you kidding me? I'm just shocked,” Hasselbeck said. (Related: Tim Walz's dog gets media interviews before Kamala Harris)

The Harris campaign sent out an email soliciting donations on Friday with an anecdote about the vice president “sitting on the couch with a family-size bag of Doritos” after learning that Trump had won the 2016 election.

Harris has been trying to connect with Gen Z voters by following trends on social media and inviting celebrities as guests. In late July, the vice president changed the color of her campaign account to the green of pop sensation Charli XCX's sixth studio album, “Brat.” She has also invited musicians such as Megan Thee Stallion and Bon Iver to appear as guests at her rallies.

Hasselbeck said it was a “huge problem” that Harris has not answered a single hostile question since being “appointed” to replace President Joe Biden, who dropped out of the race on July 21 and endorsed her.

“I think she was robbed of her position at a most precarious time for our democracy, and now she's denying that she's part of Biden's economic problems. I mean, she wants to separate herself. It's her only platform right now and everyone's saying, 'Get to know Kamala! Get to know Kamala!' You can try, but she will change. She has this 'use it or lose it' mentality. It's terrible,” Hasselbeck said.
