Flagstaff, Arizona – Today, the powerful winter storms that denounce northern Arizona bring heavy snow, dangerous winds and dangerous travel conditions. The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning until 5am on Friday, with up to eight inches of snow expected in Flagstaff and even higher totals expected in nearby areas.
According to Flagstaff’s National Weather Service, the storm brings gusts of wind to up to 55 miles, causing snow and drifting snow, low visibility, potential for fallen trees and power outages. Traveling on I-40, I-17 and other major highways is expected to be dangerous, and authorities are urging drivers to delay travel unless absolutely necessary.

•Friday, March 14th: Snow showers will be tapered by noon and temperatures will reach 30°F. The wind is strong, with gusts remaining at a maximum of 29 mph.
•Saturday, March 15th: There is a 30% chance of snowing sun and clouds mixing in the morning. Height 40°F.
•Sunday, March 16th: Warm up to 54°F with mainly sunny and gentle breezes.
•Monday, March 17th: Partially cloudy, close to 55°F, with gusts of wind in the afternoon.
•Tuesday, March 18th: Spring warmth has returned, with sun and highs in the late 50s.
